Chugging of water deprives the body of the water required to process digestion of food and it can dilute the saliva in the tongue before getting to the stomach which is totally bad for digestion. Experts however suggest sipping of 60-90ml of water at a time throughout the day. In extreme cases, drinking water fast could result in Hyponatremia which is swelling of cells due to excess water in the system.

4. DRINKING WATER IMMEDIATELY AFTER MEAL

Drinking water after meal can dilute the gastric juice in the stomach which could lead to bloating, gas retention and indigestion. However, it is advisable to drink water during meals and before it or waiting for an hour after meal.

5. DRINKING WATER ON THE GO

Drinking water while running, standing, walking and during other activities can affect your body water filtration system or kidney. This eventually can lead to digestion issues and pains in the body since some parts may be unable to access water required for their proper functioning. The better option is to sit and relax before drinking water.
